Water Conditioning Conductivity & Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
Electrolytic conductivity (EC) and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) measurements are commonly performed by water conditioning company to understand how much minerals are in the water. Typically groundwater will have a much higher EC/TDS value than surface water such as lakes and rivers. The increase in EC/TDS is due to rainwater percolating through the ground to reach the water table. Minerals are dissolved as the water passes through the soil. Ions such as calcium and magnesium contribute to water hardness and at high levels need treatment to remove in order ti increase the efficiency of soaps and detergents.
Hanna offers a variety of EC/TDS meters and calibration solutions for water conditioning services.
